#AOTM137: Yellowman – Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt

14th May 2015WORDS: Jago

Like so many of King Yellowman’s tracks, you drop this tune in any dance and everybody’s singing along. Produced by Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes and originally released on Volcano in 1983, this tune is a must for any 80’s dancehall collection. Yellowman’s ‘Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt’ cut on the ‘I Can’t Hide‘ riddim was one of several vocal versions Yellowman recorded, but this version is notorious. Emblematic of his timeless delivery, the tune was a huge success. Yellowman’s vocal has been sampled and referenced by various artists including Eazy E and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
