Anyone in the Jungle & Reggae scene knows that Tenor Fly was a true veteran, an influential pioneer and so much more. He was known by many for his work with Lloyd Coxsone’s International Sound System, by many for his work with the Congo Natty family and many for his various different hits alongside the likes of The Freestylers or Pendulum.

Of course Tenor Fly will be remembered for the music he made and I’m sure that there are still a ton of releases yet to come out that he features on. Apart from the music, I remember him for his massive smile and laugh, his positive vibes and the words of encouragement and guidance that he gave me. Respect and love to all his family and friends.

I first met Tenor Fly at Brixton Jamm in 2011 with Jago. JC Lionbeat linked us up, so Fly could listen to some of our productions. We ended up having a vibrant session in the main room for the next few hours – running instrumentals and vocals until the early hours. Since then, Tenor Fly & I kept meeting over the years, whether it was at Unit 137 Studios, at dances or just generally out and about. I will always remember every time we met I would see him radiating positivity and hear “wagwaan Adam, you good”!!! Respect and salute to a true gentleman and legend… (Hylu)
