I first met David Boomah in 2011, when he featured on a Hylu & Jago production. Since then we’ve always stayed in touch. From time to time we’ve performed at the same shows and I’ve even been employed by him to run music workshops for young people via the charity London Urban Arts Academy. He’s had a series of number one hits and never fails to come with uplifting and thought provoking lyrics.

Boomah was born in the UK but grew up in Linstead, Jamaica. He moved back to the UK at the beginning of the 90’s. After spending the first couple of years performing throughout the UK at Reggae & Dancehall events he stepped into the Jungle scene. Since then he has had fourteen underground number one singles and released a fantastic album entitled ‘One World Many Cultures’.

One of the tracks that was released in the first years of David Boomah returning to the UK was ‘Who Runs Tings’. The track was produced by Shy FX and was released in the mid 90’s. I listened to this many years ago and still love it today!

Another one of my favourites is this Calibre remix of ‘Where Do We Go From Here’. This was part of a remix album that followed up from David’s debut LP (‘One World Many Cultures’), which V Recordings released in 2014.
